Today, if your computer is not hooked up to the Internet, you are definitely missing out. The primary function of computers has shifted from being number crunching machines to being portals to a wide world of stored text, images, and video. Of course, the math is still inescapable, but because of web browsers and user friendly operating systems, you can now use your computer without having to think about its underlying structure at all. You simply have to turn it on and jump on the Internet. One way you can connect to the Internet is through the ADSL routers.

ADSL routers are also known as DSL modems, an arguably more common name. They allow your computer to connect to the internet through your telephone line, but at a speed much greater than traditional dial up modems.

You might remember the first major release of consumer modems that were known as voiceband, or dial up modems. These too ran through your phone line. They were slow and made a horrible screeching sound at start up. This is not the case with an ADSL router. First of all, these routers are fast.

This translated to a very slow browsing speed. It would even take five to ten second to load a text only email. If you wanted to look at pictures it could take minutes and video was simply out of the question. However, ADSL routers will connect you to the web at speeds of two hundred kilobits per second to two or three megabits per second.

Dial up modems are also known as voiceband modems, which means that they transferred their information through your phone line on the same frequency that is used by telephone companies to transfer your voice, zero to four kilohertz.

Additionally, ADSL routers connect you to the internet through the existing infrastructure in your home, but in such a way that it does not interfere with anything else you want to do. More specifically, in order to power your router, you need to plug it into an outlet; it doesn’t draw so much power that it will short your wiring.

All you need to do is make sure that you DSL filters are enabled when you are installing your router to ensure that this service works properly.

Once you see just how great a tool an ADSL router is for getting you hooked up to the internet, you will want to hook your computer up with one. This is also fairly easy. Some faster, newer computers come with an internal router. Most, however, need an external one. You plug it into a power source, a phone jack, and your computer. Then you configure it to your system and your ADSL router should have you exploring the internet in no time.

In the last ten years, the internet has given millions an opportunity to earn a distance learning college degree. It’s a completely different way of thinking about post-secondary education. Lectures, assignments, notes, examinations, can all done online without seeing the inside of a study hall or classroom. If you’re thinking of distance learning for your college education, there are many things to consider.

Time and flexibility

Time is money and many students need to work full time. Online learning can happen any time of day or night, or on the weekends. What a great way for stay-at-home parents and mature students caring for their parents to earn a degree and upgrade their education. You’ll never be late for class, never miss a class due to illness. Fulfill your obligations to others and take care of yourself at the same time.

How far away is your nearest college or university?

Not every school offers the same degree programs. If you’re not interested in moving across the country to attend a college where your field of study is offered, then distance learning is definitely the answer. Students in rural areas, who can’t afford to live in college dorms or leave the farm, should think about distance education as a viable alternative.

Your degree program guaranteed with no wait lists

Many of today’s most sought after fields of study have waiting lists. These courses fill up quickly in a traditional, institutional setting. But online classrooms have unlimited seating and taking a course using the internet may help you achieve your goals more quickly.

Will distance learning suit your personality type?

If you’re a self-motivated type of person, online learning may suit you very well. If you need to answer to a professor to help you stay on task and be accountable, you may need to attend class in person. Be honest with yourself. Can you open your laptop and dig in or do you need a professor in a classroom waiting to take attendance? Only you know for sure. Introverts may do better than extroverts when it comes to distance learning.

Make sure you can transfer your credits

Distance learning sounds great, but make sure the credits from each of your courses are recognized by all colleges involved. Every course you complete in your program should count towards your degree or program certificate. Check with your registrar and research your distance learning porgram carefully.

A hot tub is a large round bath tub filled with hot water and everyone can sits in it and relaxes in it. Usually when you have a very busy work schedule and after a long day of work, it is very pleasant and gives you a pretty good feel when you have a sit in the hot tub. You can also have your friends join you, with whom you can have a lot of fun while sitting together in a hot tub. The importance of following the right steps on how to build a hot tub is as equally important as the style and type of hot tub you select.

Basically for anything which is being built, small or large, the main thing is to have a very strong platform. This is done in order to withstand larger loads of weight along with the water filled in the hot tub. The main requirements for the hot tube constructions is the concrete, hand tools, treated lumber, wooden panels, cop saw etc.

The steps of the construction of your hot tub is follows, the hot tub foundation should be very strong. To have a strong foundation, use concrete to stabilize the posts on ground. For easy maintenance of the tubs, pour concrete slab under the hot tub.

Once your platform is finished, now try to calculate the size and shape of the hot tub. Determine the total weight of the hot tub to be built and capacity of the hot tub with fully filled water and occupied by persons. Get the help of some hot tub retailers for this purpose.

If you are providing steps to go to the edge of the hot tub, then it will be difficult for small children to climb up the step and then jump into the tub. Whereas keeping the hot tub below the surface of the platform will help everyone for easy access and it can be used from all the directions.

Since a pump is involved in this hot tub working process, atmospheric air is needed to be circulated over it. For this make use of the lattice panels to surround it. Place the pump outside the lattice panel for the easy access for it and install all the solid panels outside the platform.

The platform should be made up of a treated or completely water resistant lumber. Since many wet bodies sit or walk on the wooden platform there is a chance for damage, if there is no proper treatment or good sealing. For building hot tub decks red wood is mostly preferred even because of this porous nature.

Amid all the panic regarding the diminishing supplies of fossil fuel as well as its expense. What would you say, if I told you that the history of biodiesel tells us that the knowledge of this renewable energy source has been available for hundreds of years? They are just as effective as petroleum and they are manufactured from renewable sources such as peanut, canola, hemp and soybean oil.

The designer of the diesel motor, Rudolph Diesel saw the potential that renewable biofuels had as early as the late 1800′s. In fact he was adamant about using them in his engines and understood how vital it was that we not become completely reliant on petroleum, fossil based fuels. He was very particular about proving renewable biodiesel was better. His biodiesel was used in his engines till the 1920′s!

Henry Ford was another propundit of biofuels manufactured from fatty acids. He knew these oils were able to produce ethanol and methanol and that vehicle engine could drive safely on these fuels. He also profoundly believed that renewable sources of energy were the future of fuel. He wanted every vehicle his company built to be powered by these.

When he commenced with this, he was in the top of his market and embarked on partnerships with natural oil companies. However in the 1940′s petroleum based companies started advertising and as petroleum fuel was cheaper at the time, this fossil based fuel soon became the number one best seller.

Biodiesel was originally produced with oils which did not allow a very high yield of fuel, making this fuel expensive. Then they discovered hemp oil. Hemp had been grown for a long time in the US for its many useful purposes. When tested hemp oil was found to be stable and also able to produce greater yield of fuel. Henry Ford went back to the drawing board on manufacturing fuel for his vehicles from hemp oil.

In the same breath, many oil wells had been found in the US and people were getting extremely rich from selling this oil to manufacture petroleum. They were not prepared to give Henry Ford a market share with his products and started a campaign against the hemp oil product, calling it Marijuana.

This campaign was supported by the newspapers of William Randolph Hurst and he had a great amount of sway with the US government. This campaign got the Marijuana Tax Act brought into legislation and people who used hemp oil products were afraid to use it as a certificate was require for any products of this nature. The Government would not issue certificates to anyone and as far as the history of biodiesel goes, this is where the manufacture of this renewable energy source came to an end.
