The other day, I was talking with an acquaintance from France. It appears we had been each lovers of freedom, liberty, and the fruits of totally free-marketplace capitalism. As we got to talking, we began to speak about centralized governments, and how all nations could join together in peace and prosperity, it was an exciting and enlightening conversation, and I’d like to share it with you if I could possibly. Okay so, let’s talk. My acquaintance stated

“I am not personally a centralized government sort, as I think in individual and neighborhood self-guidance, but standardization of systems are vital for trade, and keeping the peace, a common set of laws worldwide does makes sense in quite a few regards. The challenge is how to get there considering the diversity of culture.”

Well spoken indeed, and he did mention standardizing of systems, and that would entail laws too proper? So, what of Standardization – certainly that too promotes trade, commerce, and exchange of culture, tips, merchandise, and concepts proper?

In order to do that, we will need some sort of centralized authority, regardless of whether it is a robust central government hovering over the states, or regardless of whether it is a robust European Union with a centralized over-structure. Interestingly sufficient, the United States when it was founded was supposed to have very powerful state rights, and a very weak central government. More than time, it appears that the federal government has grown, and the bureaucracy has now been blown out of proportion.

Sadly, this is clogging the system, and it is producing the states and their numerous regions pretty upset, as it is dictating how men and women will live at the nearby level. Once we start carrying out that, we instantly impede upon cultural differences, religious belief systems, and we do not give for regional variation for things such as weather, pollution, business, education, jobs, education, and economic conditions.

Come across some truly good information about the electronic cigarette at our best electronic cigarette critiques internet site.

There’s a lot of speak concerning the Keystone XL pipeline lately. These are several of my thoughts. Personally, I’m against it simply because it’ll not merely raise gas prices, but it will also improve the influence what other nations dictate upon our soil. It’s going to also not do anything to minimize our energy dependence upon foreign oil because oil can be a international commodity.

Some say that they’d rather send Canada cash for oil than the Middle East. Well first off, it’s China as well as other countries that can be purchasing the majority of the oil, not the U.S. China currently has investment into several oil sand projects in Canada, even as significantly as 60% stake, but simply because Canadians are fiercely rejecting a pipeline proposal in Western Canada, they’ve been seeking at the Keystone XL pipeline as one more route.

Even when we drilled as a lot oil as feasible, the oil is a international item, which means that it is going to be sold towards the highest bidder, which may be any country in the world, therefore furthering our dependence upon oil. Gas rates will often continue to climb as long as there is a high global demand. The only way for the oil prices to ever come down is if there is a low Global demand.

You’ll find other countries that happen to be creating investment into Canadian oil including Australia and Thailand so the Keystone XL pipeline will support supply the needs of several countries not only in Australia, Thailand and China, but additionally Latin America and Europe. Bear in mind the crisis from the oil pipeline crossing Ukraine from Russia to Europe? The Keystone XL pipeline will give Europe yet another avenue for oil ought to that crisis take place again. So in other words, there’s a high demand by other countries for Canadian oil, and also due to the fact the oil is coming from a country that is certainly stable, and not owned by the government, as it is owned by unstable nations within the Middle East.

Former Texas Secretary of State from 2005-2007 is looking to campaign for the TX United States senate in the upcoming election, so far he’s obtained support from several prominent political figures, including President George W. Bush who backed his candidacy. Just like most of the conservative candidates he endorses a well balanced spending plan and says that he would absolutely pass a law that will cause it to be criminal for the federal government to spend above the expected budget plan for the financial year.

Williams endorsed downsizing the federal government by enacting enormous reform to entitlement programs such as social security benefits and Medicare. Williams wishes to have social security privatized to take the dollars out of the fiscally irresponsible government and devote that cash for investment. Medicare beneficiaries should be provided a stipend as a way to opt for their healthcare within the private arena in an effort to acquire the least expensive and most valuable remedies to medical needs.

He supports equally a flat along with fair tax system and believes either technique is a lot better than the present sloppy tax code which offers ways out of having to pay taxes and in addition produces hindrances to companies. A flat tax would trigger an established level that every person will pay on income and eradicates the complex tax code entirely. The FairTax would eradicate all state and federal taxes and employ a product sales tax in which you spend the money for taxes on purchased products.

Just like all republican 2012 challengers inside the state Williams discusses the concern of illegal laborers by expressing we should increase border security and establish a hard stand on workers that come across the international border illegitimately, his campaign website doesn’t express precisely how he would accomplish this. Williams pushes harder by declaring those who line up and wish to live in America lawfully should be expected to master English and that we ought to put forth legislation to make English our official vernacular for the United States.

Williams addresses traditional conservative issues as well saying he’s unquestionably always been Pro life and believes that when a women’s egg is fertilized life begins and does not end till normal death, he declares he does not want anyone ‘messing’ with 2nd amendment protection under the law, and he believes that a partnership requires one man and one woman. He would take a stand to combat with any regulation that attempts to transform marriage.

Roger Williams should have a powerful support system for the reason that he is a well-recognized figure compared with several of the alternative republican contenders for the senate. He was initially chosen by Rick Perry to the position as Secretary in 2005 till he abandoned it in ’07 to discover other career opportunities. He may have an excellent early advantage if he can raise cash for his senate run.

Present Indiana governor Mitch Daniels will be constrained by term to make another bid for governor quite a few republicans are insisting him to announce his candidacy for the White House in 2012 . Daniels is a really voter-friendly candidate for the president of the United States because he has the record that demonstrates total budgetary accountability. Taking on a 200 million dollar debt in his state, while creating a 1.3 billion dollar surplus, Daniels would know what can be done for getting the nation and financial state back on track.

The current Indiana governor states he’d consider the possibility of a presidential run, on the other hand he also shows to the media that Iowa and New Hampshire aren’t on his schedule. This tends to signal that he honestly has not given any kind of thought to seriously run. There’s some time left to decide because numerous republican candidates have not made formal declarations yet.

His accomplishments over his tenure are impressive. Not merely did he produce a surplus to the state he also lessened property taxes by 40 million dollars, and offered health insurance to almost 50,000 low income people in Indiana with out making a pricey Liberal system. Thanks to Daniels, The state of Indiana is currently rated as the 6th ideal place for business and it is scored as first for job improvement within the non-public sector.

While reflecting on Mitch Daniels’ achievements, republicans could simply give support to him if he chooses to run. Having said that legitimate conservatives need to use caution, he stated that social conservatives put social issues to the side in the up coming political election indicating instead they ought to focus on the American financial crisis. Some social conservatives argue that a candidate can be both economicaly conservative and speak on family values simultaneously. As they quite simply see it abortion is vastly disliked and more men and women consider themselves to be against abortion in accordance with the newest polls. To become president many conservatives and independents believe he or she must handle the ethical problems that are facing our country. Especially in a period when American values are being threatened.

On the whole Mitch Daniels would be a good choice for president in the upcoming political election. The majority of the politicians declare they are planning to do everything in their power to fix the pending economical catastrophe, nonetheless many don’t reduce waste as soon as they’re elected. Mitch Daniels has now demonstrated that commitment in Indiana. Social conservatives can suspect that Daniels might be required by conservatives to address these problems. And Because the commander-in-chief he could not overturn Roe v. Wade by law exclusively the America’s top court is able to do that. Daniels would most likely choose justices that defend life if the prospect came up. Mitch Daniels will be a sensible choice for republicans and we will have to wait and see exactly where he goes as the candidates make statements about their intentions.

Congress and the president have designated ten days as federal holidays. Being ‘federal’, these holidays technically only apply to federal employees and residents of the District of Columbia, although they are so widely observed that they could be thought of as national holidays.

Officially, it is up to each individual state to designate public holidays. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday before or the Monday after is given in lieu to make a long weekend.

New Year’s Day (January 1) – celebrating the New Year dates back to pre-Christian times, when rites were performed to try to guarantee the return of Spring.

Martin Luther King Jnr. Day (third Monday in January) – before he was shot dead in 1968, Martin Luther King Jnr. was the foremost civil rights leader of the 1950′s and 1960′s. He was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Congress set this day aside to commemorate his life and accomplishments in 1983.

Washington’s Birthday (third Monday in February) – originally it was commemorated on Washington’s actual birthday, the 22nd of February, but it was moved in 1971 to make a long weekend. It is sometimes known as Presidents’ Day, because it is near Lincoln’s birthday on the 12th February.

Memorial Day (last Monday in May) – also known as Decoration Day, it honours soldiers fallen in battle. It dates from the Civil War and is customarily marked by parades and services.

Independence Day (4th July) – this, the most significant US holiday, marks the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. It was first celebrated in 1777 and is marked by fireworks, parades and speeches.

Labor Day (first Monday in September) – this, the suggestion of Peter J. McGuire, the president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, was taken up in 1894 to celebrate American workers.

Columbus Day (second Monday in October) – Christopher Columbus and his crew landed in the Bahamas on Oct 12th 1492. It was first commemorated in 1792, although it was not formally adopted until 1909. It is a cause of special pride to Italian-Americans, who claim the Genoan explorer as their own.

Veterans Day (Nov 11th) – or Armistice Day marks the end of the First World War on Nov 11th 1918. It was made a legal holiday in 1938, but its name was changed in 1954 to honour all American veteran soldiers.

Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November) – it was first celebrated in Plymouth County, Massachusetts in 1621, the year in which the Pilgrims landed in the New World to give thanks for the new harvest and the new land they had colonized. President Lincoln made it a holiday in 1863.

Christmas Day (December 25th) – Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

The secretary of state confirmed last night to everyone that the voter initiative to legalize marijuana received about 523,531 valid signatures-over 433,971 were needed to get it onto the November ballot. The initiative has many supporters who believe that legalizing pot will not only save the cash-strapped Californian economy, but will also bring in instant cash of tax revenue. Many of the people who don’t support the bill argue that legalizing the drug will end in more crime and great health impacts. Other detractors worry that legalizing gray-market marijuana will decrease the quality of marijuana and significantly harm the budding marijuana industry. {Part 1 of this article covers the Regulate, Control, and Tax Cannabis Act in California and the arguments for its passage. Part 2: Arguments against Marijuana Legalization in California covers the arguments against marijuana legalization in California}.

Legalization of marijuana in California history.

The first state law making marijuana criminal in the US was passed in California. Most other states quickly followed their lead. The federal law made transfer and possession of “Marihuana” illegal for all things except industrial and medical use by 1937.

This act was declared unconstitutional in 1969, but the U.S. Federal government included marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. The national debate was reignited when California legalize medical marijuana with proposition 215 in 1996. On the federal level, marijuana remains an illegal Schedule I narcotic considered to have “no valid medical use.”

California measures to legalize marijuana.

The Regulate, Control, and Tax Cannabis Act, or the Californian initiative to legalize marijuana, has limitations on the way to legally use marijuana. Anyone 21 or older would be permitted to “possess, cultivate, or transport marijuana for personal use.” Local governments throughout California would have the ability to tax and regulate commercial production or sale of marijuana. Individuals would also be prohibited from smoking marijuana in public, smoking marijuana while minors are present, providing to any underage person, possessing the drug on school grounds or driving while under the influence of marijuana.

The cost-savings argument for marijuana legalization

Supporters of the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act argue that the legalization of marijuana would save the State of California a significant amount of money. Because California has a huge budget deficit, they have been using payday cash advances on the state to cover budget costs.

Estimates for these savings range from $ 156 million to $ 1 billion. Supporters claim that once the already-stretched-thin law-enforcement system stops prosecuting individuals for growing, possessing or selling marijuana, they can focus on crimes and criminals that are more violent or dangerous. Proponents also point out that while very few deaths in California can be attributed to marijuana, alcohol contributes to hundreds of deaths each year.

Taxation for cannabis legalization argument.

In addition to saving the state of California millions of dollars in law enforcement, the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act also gives local governments the ability to tax marijuana. $ 15 billion worth of gray-market and black-market marijuana is sold in California each year as estimated by proponents of the act.

$ 1.3 billion a year or more in revenue would be brought in with an excise tax on the retail sales. Some counties and cities within California currently tax medical marijuana dispensaries. These county and city taxes make as much as $ 350,000 per dispensary.

Job arguments in legalizing pot

Many areas of California, like Humboldt County, have already a thriving marijuana tourism industry. With services from medical marijuana dispensaries to schools focused on how to grow marijuana, the area brings in several million dollars a year in tourism revenue. Supporters of legalizing cannabis point out that if the marijuana tourism industry in California grows to just one-third the size of the wine industry, it would create more than 50,000 jobs. Marijuana being legalized would also make it legal to produce hemp in state which might add to the agricultural base in California.

On the November ballot the California Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act should be placed. If you were interested in the arguments against the legalization of marijuana in California, I would suggest you see Part 2: Arguments against Marijuana Legalization in California.

So agnostic definition is something the Google searchers wants to know today. It probably doesn’t have anything to do with religion, as the word is usually applied in that context. It has a few others uses, however. Courtesy of the New York Times Word of the Day, heres a snapshot:

agnostic ag-ns-tik, ?g- noun and adjective

noun:someone who is doubtful or noncommittal about something
noun: a person who claims that they cannot have true knowledge about the existence of God (but does not deny that God might exist)
adjective:of or pertaining to an agnostic or agnosticism
adjective:uncertain of all claims to knowledge

The Obama budget: vocabulary lesson or endless cash loan?

The Swamp ran an article bearing the “Obama Agnostic” headline about the deficits.” Reigning the federal deficit in can lead to higher taxes on the middle class, but Obama is promising it won’t happen. Instead of committing to one particular idea or strategy, he’s staying “agnostic” and waiting for an idea.

No new taxes, no new cuts?

Obama said to the press that we can’t cut our way out of this problem.” Tax increases and cuts in Social Security and Medicare might be where Obama goes, but he didn’t give Bloomberg any definitive answers. He is staying “agnostic,” which is the sort of typical non-committal language native to politicians.

Do anything but commit

I understand political gamesmanship. I also understand that repairing something as large as our national debt is a tremendously complex task. Obamasproposed budget cuts it down to $ 1.267 trillion, improving on the $ 1.56 projection, but he’s looking at $ 727 billion by 2013! Remaining agnostic wont get you very far, as tough decisions will have to be made right away to meet a 2013 deadline. The recession has only made that road harder to travel, and more people are looking to cash loans than ever. Decide, and stick to it.

ntellectual midgets and Pee Wee Herman The Congressman; Hell will freeze over before politicians can fix this economy.

ntellectual midgets and Pee Wee Herman The Congressman; Hell will freeze over before politicians can fix this economy.

The economy is in shambles. Unemployment is at an all-time high. Foreclosure has become an epidemic and we are looking to the same screw-up’s who put us in this mess to get us out.

Seriously, and I say this with all due respect the handicapped and economically disadvantaged, we would have a better chance of grabbing a random homeless, blind, deaf, mute, quadriplegic out of a refrigerator box shanty in a west Philly alleyway and betting one million dollars that we could train him to win the Ironman in a week, than we ever will depending on succubus congressmen and senators to get us out of this mess of which they are responsible.

Congress will blame this meltdown on aliens and the chupacabra before they admit any wrong doing.

Turn on the news and you’ll see an orgy of sweaty brow, finger-wagging and jaw-flapping politicians blaming a straw man CEO of an investment banking firm for ten years of his firm’s economic gluttony and purging (though he’s only been in this executive position for 90 days). It’s a set up. Wake up. It’s all just a distraction.

Bring in a clean cut yet power hungry executive, put him through rapid promotion from VP to CEO, tell him he’s going to a press conference then blindfold him, lead him to a 3×3 ft closet, toss in a dozen stink bombs, 10 day old soiled adult diapers, bottle rockets and fire crackers, turn out the lights, take off the blindfold, throw in a rabid squirrel, slam the door shut and 5 days later let him out to and ask him to run the Boston Marathon wearing an eye patch, Speedo and flip-flops while waving pompoms. Let’s get real. We need solutions, not a congressional Kid n’ Play dance competition. It’s a joke and we are the ones being laughed at; you, me and our children.

I have an idea! For the next presidential election we can have Pee Wee Herman run under the democratic ticket, the hunchback of notre dame can run under the republican ticket and we can have Chubaka run the CNN televised debate and we can have the post debate commentaries by Lady Gaga and the Teletubbies and why not? Americans would complain for 2 days and then buy the latest Asterix Comic for voting advice on the next election.

In the tenth and eleventh centuries Scottish Gaelic was at its most popular. These days there is no more than 1.6% that have the ability to converse in the Gaelic language. Nearly all pro- Gaelic speakers may say or may have said that this was the plan of the English – to rid the British Isles of their Gaelic language and replace it by the English language and have the single language spoken throughout the country. In fact, there are various reasons for the decrease of Gaelic as being a key language in Scotland.

Firstly, by about 1400 the actual variation between the Highlands and the Lowlands had been solidly recognized. A scholarly man known as John of Fordun had this to point out concerning the differences between the highlanders and the lowlanders in 1380:

“The people from the coast tend to be of domestic and civilised behavior, trusty, patient, as well as urbane, respectable in their attire, affable, and tranquil, devout in Divine worship, but constantly willing to reject a wrong at the hands of their opponents. The highlanders and also individuals from the islands, in contrast, are a savage and untamed nation, rude or obnoxious and self-sufficient, given to rapine, ease-loving, smart and also speedy to master, comely in person, yet unattractive in dress, inhospitable towards the English people as well as language, and, due to the variety of dialog, also to their own nation, and very vicious. These people are nevertheless faithful and obedient to their own king and nation, and easily made to submit to regulation, if appropriately ruled.”

So it could be argued that the main reason for the decline in the Gaelic language was due to the great divide between the differing parts of Scotland. And by the sixteenth century the divergence between the two was at an all time high due to in the main, historic reasons and a different language being spoken. James VI had two main principles for his Highland policy – one being a way to make an income and the other was for it to be used for plantation. He considered that the highlanders and particularly the islanders were not paying their fair taxation and he wanted to change this.

In 1597 he created three burghs within the Highlands while using the objective of enabling a number of personnel from the lowlanders to rule. There was a lot of disruption to follow. And thus the financial cost of this disruption was high.

Border security is now being tightened and strengthened by a lot of countries all over the world. For this reason, a lot on individuals have raised their voices to sound off about the issue especially in US territories.

Border security is now being tightened and strengthened by a lot of countries all over the world. For this reason, a lot on individuals have raised their voices to sound off about the issue especially in US territories.

Some people may oppose this, saying that these officials, even those not of the U.S., who imposes sterner border security, are really going too overacting. They do not know that by imposing this stronger rule, they keep their country safe from all the illegalities that may come in and out of a country.

Tightening and strengthening of border security will help countries greatly in preventing any illegal practices that are being done by criminals for their personal gain. Also, with this it will prevent any acts of terrorism that may harm the innocent people of these countries. As we all know that the act terrorism is an international crime.

Illegal immigration is also one of the nuisances that border security will prevent. Having an alien in your state is really such an annoyance because they may cause a big amount of trouble. According to the US immigration news, there are hundreds and hundreds of illegal aliens in the soils of U.S.

Also another fact from US immigration news stated that each year the US Border Patrol made more than a million apprehensions of illegal immigrants and illegal aliens, who flagrantly violate US laws by unlawfully or illegally crossing U.S. borders. Such act of entry creates a d and if ever this act is repeated again it will be then punishable by law and that person will be charge of felony.

Although illegal entry or illegal immigration is not a serious crime for other countries, illegal immigration can cause an enormous drain on public funds of every country. With the seminal study of US immigration, the costs of immigration by National Academy of Sciences have discovered that the taxes that are being paid by immigrants do not cover the cost of services received by the said organization.

These illegal immigrants are flooding countries with so many worries. Most of them are unskilled and are poor. They are so many it is even difficult for you to number them in U.S. alone.

That is why US immigration offices are enforcing strict border security in all of their US borders. It is needed to prevent these unwanted instances to happen, this will also assure the people of America and other countries that they have a bright and safe future for their younger generation.
