Tree Removal: How to Slid a Tree
Notwithstanding the incontrovertible fact that trees provide many advantages to any site that they're planted in, there are times when tree removal becomes inevitable. It could be as the tree is blocking your perspective, it is in the way of new foundation to be built, or it is dead and is housing bees or mites. Here are the steps for tree removal with the use of an axe. For this job, you will need a chainsaw, protecting glasses, and comfy footwear.
Assess the Tree for Knocking down
Considering the tree is the 1st step that one should take for DIY tree removal. Define the direction where the tree will fall. A tree that's leaning will give you no option but to let it fall in the direction where it is leaning. Also, plan a route for retreat once the tree begins to come down. Clear any stumbling blocks in the path such as stones and twigs which might get in the way as you are quickly getting away from the falling tree.
Make the Face Cut
Make the 1st cut on the side of the tree where it'll fall. This should be parallel to the ground and a 3rd of the way into the tree. On the same side where the tree will fall, make the second cut downward at an angle of sixty degrees. This should meet with the 1st cut that you made and will allow you to get rid of a wedge. This is the face cut and will steer you through tree removal.
Make the Hinge
The next step in this tree removal project is to make the hinge. Move to the opposite site of the tree and saw through the trunk 2 inches above the bottom of the face cut. You should make the cut in a way that it is parallel to the ground, but do not cut throughout the whole width of the trunk. You need to leave about an inch of uncut trunk behind the face cut. This is the hinge and will prevent the tree from kicking back and twisting as it falls.
After completing these steps, the tree will generally topple down. Immediately make your retreat. The tree removal is complete as quickly as you have heard the thud.
